The Small Group Ministry at Venture

The small group ministry is an integral part of Venture’s vision and mission to intentionally reach out into the community and make mature disciples. We are calling that Intentional Disciple Making (IDM). We understand that spiritual growth and transformation occurs best in the context of relationships that reflect the transparency, intimacy, mutual accountability and encouragement found in a small group environment.

Mission:
Encouraging and assisting people to become passionate followers of Jesus through in-depth bible study and accountability for exercising worship, fellowship, discipleship, ministry and evangelism regularly in an environment of genuine hospitality.

Scope:
This ministry will encompass all the small group activities of Venture, ranging from one on one discipling up to groups of no more than 10 – 12 people ( ideally a small group will be six to eight people) and including Bible study to mediated materials.

Goals:

• A life transformed by the Holy Spirit through the study and application of God’s Word.
• Measurable growth in worship, fellowship, discipleship, ministry and mission.
• Measurable growth in the spiritual disciplines.
• Mutual encouragement for serving the church and community.
