Koinonia —(for ages 50+)

What is Koinonia?

Koinonia is from the Greek, usually translated as fellowship or community. Chuck Swindoll, in his book Strengthening Your Grip, describes 'Koinonia' as, "Expressions of authentic Christianity, freely shared among members of God's family. Biblical Koinonia is never something done alone. In other words, God's desire for His children is that we be personally and deeply involved in each other's lives. 1 John 1:7 states, "If we walk in the light as He Himself is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin."

KOINONIA is a very active group at VCC for adults ages 50 and up. Our mission is: "to serve because we love the One who first loved us." See below for meeting times and upcoming activities

OUR PURPOSE STATEMENT:
"Mature followers of Jesus Christ committed to 'pouring out ourselves' in loving service to others in a context or prayer; Bible study and fellowship; 'finishing the second half of the life well;' making significant contribution to our local congregation and our community."

MEETINGS:
Sunday mornings at 8:45AM in Room 232 at Hicks campus -- Come join us for fellowship, a cup of coffee, and the Word of God.

UPCOMING ACTIVITIES:

Project Iraq Packing Day on Monday, September 10, 2007--another HUGE success!
