Intentional Disciple Making

Your life isn't about you. Your life is about knowing God and experiencing His purposes for you. He wants you to connect with Him and with others in meaningful, growing relationships.

Believing that you are unable to connect with Him by your own efforts, you take the first step on an exciting spiritual journey by receiving God's gracious gift of salvation through repentance and faith in Jesus' death and resurrection for us all. But that's only the beginning of the journey-there's much more!

Your spiritual journey as you recognize that it is much more adventurous and effective with the company of others. God planned it that way. By belonging to a community of Jesus' followers, you gain resources and support that are critical to help you along the way.

The journey picks up requires that you know where you're headed and be intentional about getting there. God desires you to be growing spiritually mature as you follow His path.

What does spiritual maturity look like?

The Profile of a Mature Disciple describes how Venture Christian Church defines a mature follower of Jesus. It shows how the three key elements of what you are to know, be and do interact with the four key relationships every follower of Jesus should foster in life.

As a growing disciple, three different kinds of connection are necessary for maximizing your spiritual journey: a worship connection, a fellowship connection, and a growth connection. Together they constitute "biblical community." These connections are described below and under Relational Infrastructure.

• The Worship Connection - Attend the Sunday AM Worship Service for Inspiration, Celebration and fellowship with the whole body of Christ gathered at Venture .

• The Fellowship Connection Participate in building long lasting relationships with other believers and seekers in a midsize group that ministers to your unique needs and those of others in the group through fellowship, Bible teaching, and the assimilation of others from the church and from the community.

• The Growth Connection
  Become part of a Small Group for in depth Bible study and accountability that will help you grow spiritually in all the aspects described in Venture's Profile of a Mature Disciple.

  Become part of a Life on life or Triad disciple group to help establish new believers in the faith or reproduce disciple makers.

Connecting with God -
Begin meeting with God on a regular basis. This is foundational to your growth, along with the encouragement and accountability that occurs in your different groups. Practice the Disciplines of a Mature Disciple.
